Field Recording Archive #3

3. I think these recordings represent only themselves, for me they are material. Paradoxically however, I currently consider field recording to be a point in otherness, a knot in motion. Listening back is a wildly different experience that is also a listening combined, lending itself to all sorts of degrees of fabulation. Time does not give us much leeway. These field recordings, or their listener, if at any point there is any difference, shimmer, lean, and slip.

A recording made by hanging several microphones from the southmost pier in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales.
